Fallow Stays ("Fallow", "we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through fallowstays.com and fallowstays.co.uk (the "Site"), why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

Fallow Stays is operated by Dominic Gavan, of Mount Brioni, Seaton, Cornwall, UK PL11 3JN. I am the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

1. What Information We Collect

We collect personal data directly from you when you use our enquiry forms. We do not use tracking cookies or analytics on this Site at this time (see Section 6, Cookies).

If you are a property owner

When you submit our owner enquiry form, we collect:

Your name
Your email address
The name of your property

If you are a prospective guest

When you submit an enquiry about a property, we collect:

Your name
Your email address

We do not currently collect payment information, booking details, or any other personal data through the Site. All booking arrangements, contracts, and payments are handled separately, off-site, as part of our manual matching process.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide to:

Respond to your enquiry
Introduce property owners and prospective guests to one another where an enquiry indicates mutual interest
Facilitate the arrangement of a booking (carried out manually, outside the Site)
Maintain records of enquiries for our own business administration
Contact you about your enquiry or a related booking opportunity

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Our Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases under UK GDPR:

Consent — by submitting an enquiry form, you consent to us using your details to respond to you and, where relevant, to share them with a prospective owner or guest to progress an enquiry.
Legitimate interests — we have a legitimate interest in operating and growing Fallow Stays, including maintaining reasonable records of enquiries.

Where you have separately opted in to receive marketing emails from Fallow Stays, we will use your email address to send you information about new properties, longer-stay opportunities, updates and other Fallow Stays news. You can withdraw your marketing consent at any time.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at hello@fallowstays.com. This will not affect the lawfulness of anything we did with your data before you withdrew consent.

4. Who We Share Your Information With

Because Fallow connects property owners with prospective guests, we may share your enquiry details with the other party to an enquiry (for example, sharing a guest's name and email with the relevant property owner, or vice versa) in order to progress a potential booking.

We do not share your data with any other third party except:

Service providers who help us run the Site or our business (for example, our website hosting or email provider), who only process data on our instructions
Where we are required to by law

We do not transfer your data outside the UK.

5. How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep enquiry data for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your enquiry and facilitate any resulting booking, and for up to 24 months afterwards for our own record-keeping. You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time (see Section 7).

6. Cookies

At present, the Site only uses cookies that are strictly necessary for it to function (for example, to remember your form entries as you complete them). We do not currently use analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.

If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and, where required by law, ask for your consent before setting any non-essential cookies.

7. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
Delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
Restrict or object to our processing of your data
Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent
Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe we have not handled your data properly — visit ico.org.uk

8. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example as Fallow Stays grows and our data processing changes (such as adding payments or booking functionality directly on the Site). We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
